"My Dream Home" Terms and Conditions

  • 1. ‘My Dream Home’ (“Contest”) belongs to PropertyGuru International (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.  (“Organiser”) and is open to everyone (“Participants”). Participants age 18 and below will have to provide the Organiser with proof of Parental Consent to be eligible for the Contest.
  • 2. The following group of persons shall not be eligible to participate in the Contest, namely employees of the Organiser (including its affiliated and related companies), distributors, representatives, vendors, sponsors and/or agents of advertising and/or promotion service providers of the Organiser (including its affiliated and related companies) and their immediate family members.
  • 3. The Contest submission will commence from 12am (GMT+8) Malaysia time on 11th August 2017 and end at 12am (GMT+8) Malaysia time on 31st October 2017 (“Contest Period”).
  • 4. To participate and qualify for the Contest, Participants must follow the below mechanics:
    • Stage 1: Submission of entries
    • a. Find your dream home on PropertyGuru New Launches or PropertyGuru Project Reviews.
    • b. Submit an enquiry to the project developer:
      • i. New Launches: Submit request via contact box on page.
      • ii. Project Reviews: Search for developer’s contact details under Project Details.
      c. Visit your desired property for purchase, make your booking payment and confirm your booking transaction.
    • d. Revisit the PropertyGuru My Dream Home page and submit your completed booking form.
    • Stage 2: Voting
    • a. Top Five selected finalists will need to submit a story about their ‘My Dream Home’ journey. The story submission will have to include the following in no more than 500 words:
      • i. State the reasons why you chose the selected property.
      • ii. Explain in no less than 200 words how PropertyGuru played an important role in your property buying decision.
    • b. Should you be selected as a Top Five Finalist, the Organiser may contact you prior to the announcement of the Top Five Finalists, and request you to provide a signed copy of Sale & Purchase Agreement, proof of payment and signed copy of Loan Agreement from the bank or developer to confirm purchase.
      Failure to provide the requested proof of eligibility will result in your disqualification, and a new Top Five Finalist will be drawn.
    • c. All stories from Top Five finalists will be made available for public voting. Winning entries will then be judged based on popularity (40% of results) and internal judging (60% of results).
    • Stage 3: Announcement of Winners
    • a. PropertyGuru will appoint a panel of judges to determine, in their absolute discretion, the winner of the My Dream Home Competition.
    • b. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the Entrant ineligible. The Organiser, in its sole discretion, reserves the immediate and unrestricted right to disqualify any entrant or prize winner, if either commits or has committed any act, or has been involved or becomes involved in any situation or occurrence which the Organiser deems likely to subject the Organiser, entrant or winner to ridicule, scandal or contempt or which reflects unfavorably upon the Organiser in any way. If such information is discovered by Organiser after a winner has received notice of his prize and before the prize is awarded, Organiser may rescind the prize in its entirety. If a portion of his/her prize has already been awarded, Organiser may withdraw the remainder of the prize that has been fulfilled.
    • Other Terms & Conditions:
    • 1. Participating projects are limited only to developments under New Project Launches and Project Reviews. Sub Sale / Resale properties are not included. PropertyGuru will not partake in any transaction concluded between buyer and property agent.
    • 2. Property must be purchased during PropertyGuru My Dream Home campaign period.
    • 3. All decisions are final and are not subject to change.
    • 4. The winner will receive RM50,000 prize money from PropertyGuru to financially aid their dream home.
    • 5. PropertyGuru.com.my has the right to use or feature all story submissions in our website, social media pages, and other marketing channels.
    • 6. The winner will be announced at the end of the contest period and will be notified via email and/or phone call.
    • 7. The Participants hereby acknowledge and agree that the Organiser excludes all warranty and/or liability in connection with the awarded prizes and/or the Contest. Participants shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap, injury, loss, damage, claim or accident (including personal injury and/or death) resulting from their participation in the Contest, redemption and/or usage of the prizes. The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any liability, mishap, loss, damage, claim or accident (including personal injury and/or death) in any manner whatsoever suffered by the Participants as a result of the participation in the Contest and/or the use of the prizes.
    • 8. All costs, fees and/or expenses incurred or to be incurred by the Participants in relation to the Contest and/or to claim the prizes, which shall include but not limited to the costs for transportation, postage/courier, personal costs and/or any other costs, are the sole responsibility of the Participants. The winner(s) must abide by all laws and regulations currently in place and the terms and conditions of the party(ies) arranging and/or providing the Prize and the terms and conditions attached to the Prize, if any. The winner(s) shall be wholly responsible for the payment of all taxes, insurance and/or other miscellaneous charges relating to the Prizes.
    • 9. By accepting the prizes, the winners hereby expressly and irrevocably agree that the Organiser reserves the right to publish and/or use his/her name, photographs, voices and/or appearances (“Materials”) as the Organiser deems fit for the purposes of advertising and/or trade publicity without prior notice. The winner(s) hereby agree that he/she shall not be entitled to claim ownership or copyright or other forms of compensation on the Materials.
    • 10. The Organiser’s decisions are final and conclusive and the Participants hereby agree to abide by the decisions of the Organiser. No correspondence will be entertained and all Participants shall not resort to court proceedings to review the Organiser’s decisions.
    • 11. By participating in the Contest, the Participants hereby confirm having read and fully understood all the terms and conditions contained in this Terms & Conditions and hereby agree to be bound by the Terms & Conditions at all times.
    • 12. The Organiser reserves the absolute right to review and/or vary the above mentioned terms and conditions as and when it deems fit.
    • 13. The Organiser may forthwith disqualify/discontinue any of the Participants from the Contest in the event he/she breaches any terms contained herein.
    • 14. The terms and conditions contained in this Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and enforced in accordance with the applicable laws of Malaysia. If any provisions of the Terms & Conditions are held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be void or unenforceable, the remainder of this Terms & Conditions will remain in full force and effect.
